Michelle's cancer story
2004 - October - Ongoing Health Report - Thank God!

This year has been a series of appointments with a variety of specialists and my astonishments at now documented stages of the healing. The results confirm my BIG DECISION of 2 years ago.

First - the cancer. The visit with Dr. Miller in the spring of 2004 brought the welcome news that the lesion that was threatening my life in the fall of 2002 - the one that was scheduled for major surgery and grafting - is GONE! "Spontaneous remission," says Dr. Miller.

Do I still have cancer? Yes. There is still a tumor on the opening of the urethra and a small vaginal lesion. Do I believe this too will heal? YES!

Secondly - my eyes. The 1996 lens replacement for a cataract in my right eye is still successful. In September, 2002, as part of the "Big Decision" I stopped the application of steroid drops prescribed for the control of the opaque cells and inflammation in my right eye. A surprised Dr. Spencer expected a rebound of inflammation from stopping steroids cold turkey.

Zoom forward to September, 2004 - much less inflammation, fewer opaque cells and clearer vision. Most radical is a noticeable change in eye color! From birth, my eyes have been dark brown - a few weeks ago I noticed a not so gradual lightening. My eyes are now hazel with a dark blue ring around the iris. What's this? The doc says it is rare but not unknown. Medical opinion - unknown. Alternative health opinion - reduction in general body toxicity.

Thirdly - my teeth. I've always had poor teeth. At age 11, there were 3 root canals done on my front teeth and many many more fillings and root canals through the years. Throughout 2001 and 2002 I was having the amalgam fillings removed by Dr. Fietz in his mercury free dental clinic. In late December 2002, there was a flare-up of infections, abscesses, extractions, "dental hell" in a word. At that point, I decided to just stop the process.

The big question for me was - Would I live long enough to make the considerable investment worth while?

Zoom forward to 2004. Research points to dental problems underlying some chronic conditions. Would you consider cancer to be a chronic condition? I do.

Perhaps completion of the process and removal of these 3 very old front root canals will be another step in the healing. And, I am feeling well enough to be concerned with appearances. Dear Dr. Fietz, meanwhile has retired. New dentist, new x-rays. Most astonishing. The cavitation in the front upper jaw bone, clearly visible in July, 2002 is filling in with bone in August, 2004. Acquisition of the old x-rays is necessary to prove the regeneration of the jaw bone to the new dentist. Current dental opinion - good gum health & balance of teeth strong.

Current personal opinion - yes, I will live long enough to make the investment worth while. And maybe best of all, I have regained my health to the point that my vanity looks forward to having nice teeth for the first time in my life.

So very thankful to our conscious friends at Conscious Planet for their caring and sharing of products, knowledge, encouragement and ongoing support of my journey.
