Live Lifestyle & Nutrition: Stop Smoking!
Quit Smoking!
© 2006 Michelle Butts

Ask any smoker if they think smoking is a bad habit. Chances are they will tell you that they wished they could quit smoking or they've tried or it's so very expensive or they have family that wished they would.

Then ask that smoker why they still smoke. Seldom will the real answer come forth. It's an addiction. It's an addiction to a drug. It's a very insidious addiction; because it's legal, taxed and readily available. It's an addiction on the physical, emotional and psychological levels, although it doesn't have the connotations of other 'bad' addictions like other street drugs.

And ask any ex-smoker how much commitment and sheer determination it took to break that bad habit/addiciton.

Ask me. It was October 18, 1996, just 10 days before I went to the cancer clinic to begin radiation. Now that was truly motivational. And believe me, it was the toughest thing I ever did.
